This
is the most common type of QR Code because it can lead mobile users to many types
of online content, such as a YouTube
video or channel, Facebook,
Twitter, MySpace,
Amazon, iTunes,
an app, music, video, or other online store, PDF file, image file, online survey,
and other static, dynamic or interactive content.
Below are some tips to finding the right URL to use:
Use the iTunes
LinkMaker to get URLs to create QRickits that take iPhone
users to songs, albums, artists, apps, audiobooks and more
on the iTunes Store, the App Store and the iBookstore.
For Android users, you can open Google
Play (formerly Andorid Market) to an app or developer
(publisher) using the following URL format:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.example.android
(i.e. the name of the app)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Example+App+Developer
(i.e. the name of the developer; use "+" for spaces)
*You can go to Google
Play and simply copy the URL to the desired app or developer
as shown above.
For BlackBerry users, you can open the BlackBerry App World
to a specific app or publisher using the following URL format:
http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/app_id_number
OR
http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/vendor/publisher_id_number
To
create QRickits that play a YouTube video, go to the specific
YouTube
video, click the SHARE button and copy the URL (short URL's
work too).
Affiliate
and partner links can be used too.
An
easy way to track your QRickit is to get a Google
short URL which comes with free tracking (statistics)
and use it to create your QR Code here. This is also recommended
if your URL is very long (more than 100 characters).
If
there are spaces or special characters in your URL, it is
a good to urlencode it. Click

When
you are ready to meet your QRickit, click "QReate". You will have the
option to download the image, download a high resolution version for graphic
design and high-quality printing, or print it out on a flyer/poster/sign using your home or office printer.
Your
data and QR Code are never saved or transmitted to anyone. This program just
uses your data once to generate a QR Code online in realtime. If you are on
a public computer, remember to clear the history and cache when done.
QRickit
also offers a free QR Code API
so you can dynamically generate and display QR Codes on your own website. See
API Guide.
